Welcome to the South Australian Apiarists' Association
The South Australian Apiarist’s Association is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to progress and represent the interests of South Australian apiarists.
Welcome to the SAAA
The South Australian Apiarists’ Association (SAAA) Inc. was formed in 1945. We are an Association of members from both the commercial and recreational beekeeping sectors. Our members represent many facets of the industry including honey and honey products’ production, pollination, queen breeding, propolis and pollen collection.
The SAAA invites all SA beekeepers to become further involved in their industry by joining our Association. We encourage membership applications from anyone who is interested in expanding and/or sharing their knowledge, or just getting together with like-minded people to discuss issues. We currently have members with only one hive, up to large apiaries with over 2000 hives.
If you are interested in becoming a member go to the Membership section of this website. You can join online or complete a Membership Application Form. If you have any issues or questions, please contact our Secretary by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or phoning 0419 982 102.
Please note that the South Australian Apiarists’ Association does not sell honey or other honey products.
If you have bee swarms on your property that need to be removed, please go to the Swarm Removal section of this website.
The SAAA Learning Hive aims to build the capacity of the Australian Apiary Industry by facilitating online access to education and training activities. The SAAA would like to thank Agrifutures for the awarding of a $5000 Honey Bee & Pollination Program Industry Development Grant (‘Smarty Grant’) which has enabled the Learning Hive infrastructure to be built, including the integration of a Learning Management System to facilitate the delivery, management and certification of non-accredited online courses.
